Perfect World International

Perfect World International is a free MMORPG video game developed Perfect World Entertainment. It is the official English version of Perfect World, the incredibly popular MMORPG developed in China around 2006. Perfect World International is the official version of the original Chinese game.

The game story is typical of most MMORPGs, not very developed and relatively pointless, since no one really reads or follows it anyway. Gameplay is delicious on high detail, with great visual effects and solid gameplay. Compared to other competitors like SilkRoad or Rappelz, Perfect World is more solid, less grinding, prettier, better trading options, has NO spam bots, and the grinding is actually enjoyable.

One of the major features that I personally enjoy more than any is the ability to fly, simplifying traveling and drastically reducing the price of traveling massive online worlds.

Overall, for the casual gamer, Perfect World has no competitor. You do not have to be completely dedicated to the game to enjoy, unlike SilkRoad, where you are completely restricted to one place on the world until your a certain level (like 30!) At any point in the game, at any level, you can go as you please with little or no restrictions other than the monsters roaming around. It really is the ultimate free MMORPG in my opinion.

NOTE: Don’t be fooled by the Malaysian English version of Perfect World, the lag is terrible and the translations cannot be understood, AT ALL. Perfect World International is the official English version, easing gameplay.

Rant: Air Alert

So, I was doing some Youtube video searching today, and I came across something interesting. When I mean interesting, I mean the most ludicrous thing I’ve heard in a long time. So, lets begin this 1/28/08 rant: Air Alert

After watching the Georgia Tech vs. Virginia basketball game, I decided to look up some pretty sweet dunks, or so I thought. Two words kept occurring over and over again *big suprise there, its Youtube after all*: Air Alert. This apparent program can increase your vertical jump over 12 inches, bla bla bla. In other words, all those wannabe 14 year olds who will pretty much stay 5′11 all their lives can now dunk or something. Besides the fact that in most of the videos the rim was at 9′5, not 10, or the fact that they were using 28.5 inch balls so they could palm them; concentrate on the fact that instead of playing in an actual league, or practicing every day against other people to earn them real skill (shooting + dribbling, etc) they have to do a workout video for the glory to dunk. Pathetic if you ask me….

In other words, if you can dunk, great. If you can drive the ball against two 6′ post players and make them look like retards trying to guard you, that’s even better.

News and other related stuff(s)

Long time no see, eh? Yes I know, over the past 4 months I’ve posted probably 5 topics, and other than that the blog’s remained silent. But believe me, there is methods to this madness!

First of all, Snarfer and I are going back to school, *yes, I know, we actually go to school o.0!!!* severely limiting our time dedicated to the greater good of the blog. Believe me, balancing computer work and school work is not easy, and its very time confusing. I have to say though that I am so far enjoying High School, which is a plus.

Second, I feel its becoming hard to maintain a Mac related website, mainly because there are so many out there. Therefore, I’ve probably going to use a more personal tone to the future post, and moving the blog to a more personal site. This should also make the blog a little more interesting. Eventually, I plan to change the header, logo, and title, to avoid the Mac related content, and the sterotypical theme-matches-content issue. But that all depends on how I feel.

And finally, some of you may have noticed a theme change, though I doubt it because as I review the user agents there are hardly any real people that actually visit the site. I rewrote some aspects of the theme, using grey gradients and a dark, striped background to make everything more unique and interesting looking. Also, I changed the theme of the forum to, for consitency sake. *yes, I know, we do actually have an empty forum, in case anyone ever bothered to notice.*

Katana II

Believe it or not, there are cell phones other than the iPhone. I know, I know, the way people brag about the phone its hard to believe. Anyway, needing a new cellphone and not having enough jingle in my pocket to get even close to affording the iPhone or its monthly cost, I decided a better alternative me thinks.

In my opinion, Sprint > ATT, price wise and features per cost. ATT likes to hide nice little fees into their bills, and make you pay extra for features you want, in my case the need for Free calling past 7 PM. The majority of my calls are made past that time, and with the combination of free long distance and a low family plan *all of my family got new phones too, which racked up huge initial discounts on the 4 phones*, Sprint made the most sense. Next came the best part of the pain of the process, finding the cell you want.

There were many choices to choose from, the Katana II by Sanyo, the M300 and M510 by Samsung, along with the pride of the line the UpStage, and the not-so-famous-for quality RAZR by Motorola along with its twin, the KRZR. All these choices have there unique features, but I wasn’t looking for uniqueness, I was looking for durability and SOME features *no music phones*. That immediately eliminated the RAZR, UpStage, and KRZR. That left the two Samsungs and the Sanyo. I heard some good things about this new Sanyo, mainly that the sound quality was the best in the line and the phone was overall a good choice. Without the need of a mega pixel camera, I decided on the Katana II.

Overall, I have to say I made the right choice. The phone is thin as hell, durable, enough features to last anyone, and the sheer beauty of the phone itself. The sound is crystal clear, and it provides a fresh amount of settings to decide for yourself the features you want enabled. *bluetooth = disabled, ALWAYS*. I by far recommend this phone to anyone who doesn’t feel like spending 145 dollars on a phone with features you either have to pay extra for or you’ll never use. The Katana II is just a thin cellphone, which is what I was looking for.
