Proteus, the alternative instant messenger to Adium for Mac OS X has released a new version. 4.2. This version is complete with a new automatic update system made possible by Sparkle, new interface icons, and an extensive amount of bug fixes. This is all fine and dandy, and Proteus is my ideal instant messenger, but I’m excited about something else…their new site.
It has been close to two years since the Proteus project had a working website, since the collapse of Defaultware. When a project is on the verge of dying it’s very hard to help revive it if there’s no form of decent communication about the program or what it can do. This is where websites come in, as well as I. I had the privilege of writing their new website, around 4 months ago in my spare time. It’s a very simple design, with the familiar gradient stripe for navigation and a header pattern, much like what’s found on my site currently, as well as an image for emphasis; a logo or a badge. Hopefully my work and some skilled programming will help prove that Proteus is back in business.

Well well well, looks like Microsoft has finally introduced a new blogging tool onto the face of the software world, well, er..if that makes sense? Anyway, Windows Live writer is actually a VERY impressive piece of software surprisingly, with a lot of stacked features and a WYSIWYG editor. Some features include:
- A WYSIWYG editor, plus live demos of what the post will look like on your site! That’s like way cool…
- Behaves much like MS Word, which is a huge plus for me.
- Rich Text editing with all the standards, plus shortcuts to insert maps, tags, hyperlinks, and video!
- Ability to switch to HTML editing for those nitpickers.
- Interface is beautiful, no matter what people say, Vista does look impressive.
- The ability to choose where you want you files uploaded to like images when you insert them *omg, now I wish I spent more time on Windows
- Multiple Accounts
- Categories, tags, and custom date settings.
- Ability to edit the rel of a hyperlink *faints*
As you can see, this thing is by expression, RIPPED! Great job MS, but I have a question…any possibilities of a port to mac, or perhaps a core release? Sorry, must have been dreaming…

I have to admit, I am addicted to NPR. (National Public Radio I love listening to my Morning Edition and All things Considered every day when going to school and other places.
This is an answer to my prayers. Rabbit Radio is a widget for playing NPR stations. Simple as that. You can also continue to play the widget even when Dashboard is closed. Awesome.
