Windows Live Writer

Well well well, looks like Microsoft has finally introduced a new blogging tool onto the face of the software world, well, er..if that makes sense? Anyway, Windows Live writer is actually a VERY impressive piece of software surprisingly, with a lot of stacked features and a WYSIWYG editor. Some features include:

  • A WYSIWYG editor, plus live demos of what the post will look like on your site! That’s like way cool…
  • Behaves much like MS Word, which is a huge plus for me.
  • Rich Text editing with all the standards, plus shortcuts to insert maps, tags, hyperlinks, and video!
  • Ability to switch to HTML editing for those nitpickers.
  • Interface is beautiful, no matter what people say, Vista does look impressive.
  • The ability to choose where you want you files uploaded to like images when you insert them *omg, now I wish I spent more time on Windows
  • Multiple Accounts
  • Categories, tags, and custom date settings.
  • Ability to edit the rel of a hyperlink *faints*

As you can see, this thing is by expression, RIPPED! Great job MS, but I have a question…any possibilities of a port to mac, or perhaps a core release? Sorry, must have been dreaming…

With the release of some sneak peeks from Microsoft, we can see what the Mac Mojo team has really been working on for the past three years or so, and from what I see, it looks stunning. So sit back, enjoy the eye candy, and put your stunner frames on as you take a look into Microsoft Office 2008……for Mac! *end of dramatic effects* Note: I am not an M$ fan boy in anyway, just an impressed user who sees what good can come from hard development.

Element’s Gallery

In Office 2004, a handicapped program was released with the Office package to manage projects, templates, and looks to the the rest of the Office suite, called Project Gallery. It was a small mix of just about everything, and didn’t seem to fit in at all. In 2008, Microsoft abolished this, and placed the “Element’s Gallery” under the color specific toolbar *blue for Word, Orange for PowerPoint, etc* under the standard Mac OS X toolbar. It supports CoreAnimation like actions, and really does look good under the potentially crowded interface.
