Katana II
Believe it or not, there are cell phones other than the iPhone. I know, I know, the way people brag about the phone its hard to believe. Anyway, needing a new cellphone and not having enough jingle in my pocket to get even close to affording the iPhone or its monthly cost, I decided a better alternative me thinks.
In my opinion, Sprint > ATT, price wise and features per cost. ATT likes to hide nice little fees into their bills, and make you pay extra for features you want, in my case the need for Free calling past 7 PM. The majority of my calls are made past that time, and with the combination of free long distance and a low family plan *all of my family got new phones too, which racked up huge initial discounts on the 4 phones*, Sprint made the most sense. Next came the best part of the pain of the process, finding the cell you want.
There were many choices to choose from, the Katana II by Sanyo, the M300 and M510 by Samsung, along with the pride of the line the UpStage, and the not-so-famous-for quality RAZR by Motorola along with its twin, the KRZR. All these choices have there unique features, but I wasn’t looking for uniqueness, I was looking for durability and SOME features *no music phones*. That immediately eliminated the RAZR, UpStage, and KRZR. That left the two Samsungs and the Sanyo. I heard some good things about this new Sanyo, mainly that the sound quality was the best in the line and the phone was overall a good choice. Without the need of a mega pixel camera, I decided on the Katana II.
Overall, I have to say I made the right choice. The phone is thin as hell, durable, enough features to last anyone, and the sheer beauty of the phone itself. The sound is crystal clear, and it provides a fresh amount of settings to decide for yourself the features you want enabled. *bluetooth = disabled, ALWAYS*. I by far recommend this phone to anyone who doesn’t feel like spending 145 dollars on a phone with features you either have to pay extra for or you’ll never use. The Katana II is just a thin cellphone, which is what I was looking for.
